A watch? I've never made something that small. I could try, but getting a powerful shot from something that small might be tough without a mass effect field. Guns tend to be a certain size for a reason.

If you can't make it as effective as a regular weapon that's fine, I can work with surprise instead of lethal force if I must.

I've been starting to get myself involved in bounty hunting despite my best intentions not to. But this place is different. You run into enemies with powers you don't understand and can't match. I'm not arrogant enough to believe this can't backfire on me.

I might be able to make you an omni-tool similar to mine and customize a couple of tech abilities in it. It's a hard light holographic interface so it's only visible when you activate it. I always have mine on me but you can't tell. I think you'd like it.

They are pretty useful. That won’t be a free job, though. Nothing too expensive since it’ll take a bit of time for me to figure it out, but it’s a little more complicated than a watch.

Are there any specific abilities you want it to have? Outside of its normal functions, that is.

Do you think you could add in some kind of shock tool? That'd be useful to incapacitate, if you want to interrogate later. And if we're talking pure wishful thinking, some high-powered fire capability, and something to make slicing doors easier. Tell me if that's possible.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can do most of that. Neural Shock can paralyze someone and Incinerate packs a punch - it's a high explosive. Not great for covert ops, but it'll certainly knock a guy down. It might take a bit of time; I've seen them both done but I don't have them equipped to my omni-tool so it'll take a bit of tinkering.

The slicing door part might be tough. Your blade is sharp, but I don't know if it's that sharp. If you're looking to get through a door that's electronically locked, though, I can do that. Decryption is a pretty easy install.

Speaking of your blade, anything special you want there or just a basic one?

I'm not saying he knowingly lied to you. The first thing you have to understand as a spy is that the stories people tell you will never match, for everyone has their own truth. And your own truth, or your perception of the truth, is biased as well. I'm sure Palpatine and Thrawn believe they're doing what is best for the galaxy. It just so happens they're wrong, and we need to stop them.

There's always been slavery in my galaxy, it's nothing new. Not in the Republic, the government they toppled, but even the Republic didn't care as long as it happened outside their borders.

But to rule as tyrants with such a complete chokehold over so many worlds, that's It's not new either, actually, but something we haven't seen for a thousand years at least.

For now, we need a friend who won't shoot us for being terrorists. Maybe someone who helps us prepare for the worst case. If that day comes? I'd like to have you at my side.

A blade - a normal one? Not too long or unwieldy, maybe a little curved. I'm going to use it in close combat. A last resort weapon.

[Garrus is pleasantly surprised to get a text from Kay. Looks like he hadn't ruined things between them.

The subject matter left a different taste in his mouth, though. It takes him a moment to answer while he tries to figure out the droid's motives and coughs awkwardly. It's a good thing Kay can't actually see him.]

I do, for the record. The whole shooting range thing wasn't really me. But what's with the sudden interest?

That's mostly what they're for. The blades aren't usually too long, and they're definitely not unwieldy - it's a hard light holo so you barely feel the weight. It's not a blade you hold separately. Hold on.

I know, the slavery's awful. And I wish I could say it's only an Imperial thing, but it isn't. Our people are very good at ignoring injustices as long as it doesn't affect them personally. It makes me so angry.
